Annabel plays for  Laren Women’s 1 with whom she competes in one of the strongest Dutch leagues (Overgangsklasse). Annabel started playing field hockey at HV de Terriërs where she competed in the youth first teams at Super B and Super A level.  In 2018, at only 14 years old(!) she joined the Women’s 1 at HV de Terriërs in the promotieklasse (the second highest competition in the Netherlands for women). She played promotieklasse for 4 years. She then decided to play for Westerpark Women’s 1 for one year in the 1ste klasse. This upcoming year, she will compete with Laren women’s 1 to play at a higher level again in the Overgangsklasse. 

Annabel is known for her accurate and fast passing. Annabel’s passing is a standout aspect of her game. Her hard and controlled sweeps, combined with her ability to use deception, enable her to deliver precise and swift passes, effectively setting up her teammates for successful plays. As a central defender, she possesses an excellent overview of the field. Her strategic understanding allows her to position herself and her teammates optimally, ensuring solid defensive coverage and effective transitions to attack. On top of that, she maintains a low stance and utilizes her physical strength to dominate 1v1 situations. Her accuracy in intercepting and halting opponent advances is crucial in preventing scoring opportunities.

Annabel graduated in July 2021 at HAVO level. She decided to focus on her bachelor’s degree and will start her second year in the Fall of 2024.  She will be a transfer student and is planning on taking the Duolingo this upcoming year. She is undecided on her major. She is looking to transfer for the Fall of 2025.
