Dot van Dijck

Level

Dot started playing field hockey for her smaller, local club, but was quickly scouted by a bigger club in the area and selected for their selection teams. Ever since, Dot has always played at the highest levels of youth hockey in The Netherlands (Super/Landelijk). As one of the more talented players on her teams, Dot was also frequently asked to sub in for the selection team one age group up. Since 2022, Dot is a member of the Were Di Women 1 team and plays in the second highest senior league of The Netherlands. This league is one level below the Hoofdklasse (the highest club competition in The Netherlands).

Playing style

Dot is a skilled and creative midfielder/forward. She’s at her best in tight spaces, where she can use her ball control, creativity and quick hands to create dangerous opportunities. Once Dot has eliminated her opponents, she’s able to use her powerful acceleration to speed by and cut off defenders. She’s an involved and smart player and likes to connect with her teammates on the field to attack and defend together.

High performance

Dot has been a member of the Dutch regional and national youth pipeline. She has been invited to selections for the national youth teams regularly.

Academics

Dot is currently in her 5th year of high school (HAVO) and is expected to graduate in June 2023. After high school graduation, Dot would like to take a gap year in The Netherlands to optimally prepare for college field hockey at a high level in the US. Her entry semester will therefore be Fall 2024.
