Freek Ruzius is a dedicated golfer who plays at Keppelse Golf Club, where he competes at both the youth and men’s levels. Since January 2025, Freek has been a selected member of the Men’s First Team, competing in the NGF 36-hole Match Play national league. In addition, he has been a core member and captain of Keppelse’s Youth Team since 2023, leading them to back-to-back successes with an NGF Youth Competition promotion to the 18-hole main class in 2023 and a championship title in 2024. This fall, he was selected to participate in GolfTON (Talent Ontwikkeling Nederland), a national program dedicated to developing top Dutch golfers, providing him with high-level coaching, structured training, and opportunities to compete at the highest levels for his age

Ranked 31st nationally in his age category and holding a handicap of 4.5, Freek is known for his consistency and ability to limit mistakes on the course. His strongest asset is his length and accuracy off the tee, which regularly sets up strong scoring opportunities. He complements this with a reliable wedge and iron game, leading to a high percentage of greens in regulation. Over the past year, Freek has also developed into a much stronger putter, especially from the 5–8 foot range, making him a more complete and competitive player.

Freek graduated from VWO, the highest level of Dutch high school, in the summer of 2025 and is currently taking a gap year to focus on improving his golf. He is very social, stable, and positive both in team settings and personal environments, qualities that make him a valued teammate and competitor. Known for his perseverance, Freek never gives up, even when he is not playing his greatest golf, always working to find a way to compete and contribute.

Academically, he is interested in pursuing studies related to International Relations and Organisations, History, or Human Geography and Planning. With his steady improvement, leadership experience, strong character, and competitive results, Freek is eager to continue his golf and academic journey at the collegiate level in the fall of 2026.
