Level
Gwenn currently plays for Almere U18-1 and the Women’s 1 team. She currently plays for both the U-18 First Team (Subtopklasse) and the Women’s First Team (Overgangsklasse), making key contributions to both squads. She has also served as a two-season captain, demonstrating leadership and composure under pressure.
Throughout her youth career she has been selected for the first team selection. She has played for Almere her entire life. Her talent didn’t go unnoticed as she was selected for the National U14 team as well as her district team (Noord-Oost).

Playing Style
Gwenn excels at precise passing, creating opportunities for her teammates. Her ability to execute both short, quick passes and long, cross-field balls makes her a key playmaker in build-up play. She can break defensive lines with well-timed passes and maintain possession under pressure. Moreover, she plays a pivotal role in organizing attacks, reading the game well to position herself effectively and set up offensive plays. Her vision and decision-making allow her to dictate tempo and transition smoothly from defense to offense. Gwenn also has a strong instinct for goal, regularly scoring from open play and penalty corners. Her composure in front of goal and ability to find space in the attacking circle make her a constant threat to opposing defenses. She also has the ability to insert during corners with precision and speed.

Extra information
Her sister Carmel van Dijk has also played in the U.S. for Fairfield University and The University of California, Berkeley. Gwenn is certain that she wants to stay for 4 years to earn her bachelor’s degree while competing at a high level in Division 1.

Academics
Gwenn is currently in her senior year of high school (HAVO). She combines her high level field hockey with school which shows how she knows how to manage both athletics and academics. She is expecting to graduate in June, 2025. She is really excited to play in the U.S. and focus on combining academics and athletics. She wants to compete in the U.S. starting in the Fall of 2025.
