Kevin van Oudheusden

Kevin only started doing track and field at the age of 15. Back then he was training just once a week with a recreational training group. Roughly 2 years Kevin competed in his first actual track meet and ran a 2:12,98 in the 800m. This was the trigger for him to start practicing more and he was more motivated than ever. He decided to focus on distance running primarily and had many successful performances throughout his short career already. 

Some of Kevin’s best results so far are a 23rd place (800m) at the Dutch National Championships U20 Outdoors in 2022. Additionally, he ran a huge PB in a 5k road race in Eindhoven where he placed 17th with a time of 16:51min. Prior to these performances Kevin struggled with an eating disorder (2020-2021) and didn’t run for over a year. Once recovered he started training again in February 2022 and now he’s feeling stronger and faster than ever running PBs in all his events across the board. 

His major strength is his determination to work hard and push himself to his limits both in races and at practice. He always sets high goals for himself and works hard to achieve those goals. This was his weakness at first because he set his goals too high, but managed to turn this ambition into one of his strengths. We strongly believe there is still much room for improvement if Kevin keeps working hard, training consistently and becomes stronger. 

His current PBs are: 

Kevin’s primary goals in the USA are to train hard and perform at his absolute best for his track team. He wants to become a faster and stronger athlete, prioritise his recovery and improve all his PBs. In short, he would like to become the best athlete he can possible be during his collegiate career. 

Kevin graduated high school in the Netherlands in 2020 and he’s currently studying Finance and Control. He would like to follow a minor the USA and is interested in studying Business Economics. For more information about his academics, please check out the details below.
