Lars is half German, half Spanish, and lives in the Netherlands. Having attended an international school, he is most comfortable speaking English, which has become his primary language both on and off the court.

Athletic History

Lars has spent his entire basketball career with Donar Groningen, working his way up through the youth system to earn a place on the club’s first team. Throughout his development, he has gained recognition at the national level, receiving multiple invitations to Dutch youth national team training camps.

He has competed in several high-level tournaments across Europe, including the HNBT, Lemvig Cup, and many more. Across nearly every team he has played for, Lars has been part of squads that consistently rank among the top six teams in the Netherlands. His experience against elite competition has sharpened his skills and prepared him for the demands of collegiate basketball.

Strengths

Lars’ game is defined by his speed, defense, and playmaking. His quickness gives him an edge on both ends of the floor, allowing him to create offensive opportunities while also being a disruptive force defensively.

Defensively, Lars thrives in 1-on-1 matchups, team defense, and defensive rotations. Having played on teams that emphasize defensive intensity, he has developed into a versatile and disciplined defender who takes pride in stopping opponents.

On offense, Lars has always been a go-to player in crucial moments, trusted to create scoring opportunities for himself or his teammates in tough situations. His ability to break down defenses, find open teammates, and make smart decisions under pressure makes him an effective floor general.

Areas to Improve

Physically, Lars is focused on getting stronger and adding size to his frame. He aims to improve his ability to absorb contact and finish through defenders when driving to the basket. Developing a stronger physical presence will allow him to be even more effective in attacking the rim and handling physical defenders.

Lars’ goal in the U.S. is to immerse himself in a new style of basketball, learning as much as possible to become a more complete player. He is eager to challenge himself in a competitive collegiate environment, refining his game and expanding his skill set.

After his time in the U.S., Lars aspires to play professional basketball overseas, turning his passion for the game into a long-term career. With his determination, high basketball IQ, and relentless work ethic, he is ready to make an impact at the collegiate level and beyond.
