Level
Mae currently plays for MOP Women 1 and has experience at the Promotieklasse and Overgangsklasse level (second and third highest level of senior hockey in the Netherlands), even though she still has the age to play at the U18 youth level. She has extensive experience at the highest levels of Dutch youth hockey since a really young age, including Landelijk and Super. As a youth player, Mae was also asked to frequently train and play with MOP Women 1, allowing her to get used to the pace and physicality of senior-level hockey at a young age. 

Playing style
Mae is known for her explosive quickness, excellent vision and smart positioning, both on and off the ball. Without the ball, she moves effectively to close gaps and make herself available in the right spaces. With the ball, Mae often already knows what she wants to do before receiving it. She prefers to pass but will make a well-timed individual move when the opportunity presents itself. She’s also capable of creating space for a follow-up pass after an initial action. Mae has great stamina and regularly plays full matches without substitution. On penalty corners, she has been the designated stopper for the past four years and can also sweep from the top. Mae brings a consistently positive attitude to the team, supports her teammates individually, and stays focused on the game rather than on the referees. Coaches and trainers enjoy working with her and often compliment her ability to immediately apply feedback, which allows her to improve quickly.

High performance 
Mae was selected for the U14 regional team, made up of the most talented players in her age group from across the region. 

Academics
Mae is expected to graduate from the highest level of Dutch high school in June of 2026 (VWO).

Additional information
Mae enjoys spreading her love for the game and has been the coach/trainer of several youth teams over the years.
