Athletic Background
Nienke started playing volleyball at VV Utrecht at the age of 11 and progressed steadily through the club’s youth system. She transitioned into senior volleyball playing, gaining valuable experience at increasing levels of competition.

Alongside her club career, Nienke was selected for the Dutch Youth National Teams. During this period, she trained and competed at the national training center. Within the national program, she transitioned from outside hitter to middle blocker, a switch that significantly strengthened her impact at the net.

Nienke gained international experience through participation in several WEVZA tournaments, the European Qualification Championship, and the European Championship in Serbia.

Strengths
Blocking is one of Nienke’s strongest qualities. She has a strong sense of timing and positioning at the net and performs well in high-pressure situations. As a middle blocker, she moves efficiently within the game, recognizes when to take responsibility for balls, and contributes consistently on the defensive side.

Nienke also brings strong court vision and tactical awareness, allowing her to identify gaps in the opponent’s defense and make smart decisions. She communicates clearly with her teammates and adds stability to the team through her game reading and calm presence on the court.

Academics
Nienke is a strong student and is expected to graduate from VWO (highest level of Dutch high school) in June 2026.
