Robert Weiss is a determined and adaptable golfer who plays for Amelisweerd’s first youth team. With a background in competitive sports, Robert transitioned from soccer and field hockey to golf, where he has shown impressive progress in a short time. As a former goalkeeper in the highest regional field hockey competition, he developed a strong mentality, resilience, and the ability to perform under pressure—qualities that now serve him well on the golf course.

About Robert Weiss

Robert first picked up golf at age 15 and fully committed to the sport at 16. In just 2.5 years, he has significantly lowered his handicap, reaching a best of 8.9. His rapid improvement and dedication reflect his strong work ethic and adaptability. While playing for Old Course Loenen’s second youth team, he served as team captain, demonstrating leadership and a commitment to team success. Now competing with Amelisweerd’s top youth team, Robert continues to refine his game. One of his standout performances includes a 2-over-par round in singles competition, earning him the title of player of the day.

Robert’s strengths extend beyond technical ability. His grounded mindset, mental toughness, and positive attitude allow him to navigate tough situations on the course. He is known for uplifting team spirit and maintaining focus under challenging conditions. His steep learning curve and continuous improvement make him a promising golfer with the potential to grow at the collegiate level.

Now in his senior year of high school and set to graduate in the summer of 2025 with a 3.59GPA, Robert is eager to join a college golf program in the fall.
