Tijmen has been playing tennis from a young age, showing strong dedication as he balanced his training with schoolwork. Standing at 6’2″, Tijmen is known for his excellent touches, allowing him to place shots precisely and hit many winners. His ability to read the game and adjust his tactics makes him a tough competitor. 

Over the past few years, he has significantly developed his serve, and this is something he wants to continue working on during his time in college. Tijmen plays for his tennis club, A.L.T.A. He trains with experienced coaches and competes in regional and national tournaments. 

Some of Tijmen’s recent achievements in tennis include:

• Win over Robbin Mertens (UTR 5.16), 7-5, 6-2
• Loss to Yannick Hogebrug (UTR 6.78), 3-6, 4-6
• Win over Wessel van Beurden (UTR 5.17), 1-6, 6-4, 7-6

In addition to tennis, Tijmen is committed to his academics aswell, maintaining good grades despite his busy schedule. He aims to combine his athletic career with a solid educational foundation. This balance between academics and sports makes him as a well-rounded candidate for collegiate programs. He is interested in majoring in business or marketing related studies. 

During his time in the U.S., Tijmen aims to further develop his tennis skills while contributing to his team’s success. Off the court, he hopes to achieve strong academic results while also focusing on personal growth to become the best version of himself.
