Hester Linnemans

Hester Linnemans is a Dutch field hockey goalkeeper who is currently playing in the first junior (A1) team of Oranje Rood in the Dutch National League. Hester is interested in competing at a collegiate field hockey team, while continuing her Psychology major, in the Fall of 2020.

Hester has always been on the first team of the junior teams at HC Oranje Rood. This year, her team got placed in the Dutch National League early because of their outstanding performance in pre-season league.

In 2018, Hester won the indoor ZNK (Southern National Championship) and got third place at the National Championship Tournament. Besides that, she was on the Southern Dutch selection team for two years and was invited to try out for the National U16 team 2x. When she was only in the U14, she was already practicing and regularly playing with the U18 team of her club (National League). Currently, she also practices (as you can see in the shooting drills in the highlight video) with the Senior team of HC Oranje Rood, who play in the Hoofdklasse.
Hester’s strengths are shootouts, high shots (especially Stick-side) and strokes. Hester is known for her poise in high-pressure situations. One thing that she would like to improve is her coaching on the field.

Hester is currently in her first year of Applied Psychology at Fontys University of Applied Sciences, Eindhoven. Hester has 4 years of eligibility left and wants to continue her Psychology education.
