Lucas van Loon

Lucas van Loon is a Dutch soccer player currently playing for the reserve team of S.O. Soest in the Netherlands. Lucas is interested in joining a highly motivated college soccer team starting in the Fall of 2020.

About

Lucas is a right-footed midfielder but can use both feet almost equally. His preference is to play as central midfielder.

As a young kid, Lucas started playing for VVZ 49. He played there as a midfielder until he was 14 years old. He made the decision to move to S.O. Soest to further challenge and improve himself. They played a 3-4-3 system when he was playing for U16. Lucas played as a central midfielder scoring over 10 goals and 20 assists in 23 games. In U17, Lucas became one of the starting strikers due to his scoring abilities. The year after that, in U19, he was chosen to replace the injured defensive midfielder. He didn’t miss a single minute as defensive midfielder for the rest of the season. Last year, Lucas played as fullback on both positions, left-mid, right-mid, left-wing, right-wing and as a striker because of his versatility.

Lucas believes his strength is handling the ball under pressure. He doesn't get stressed and he will always find a teammate who can play on. Apart from that, Lucas is a strong finisher and has a pretty good shot from distance, although he is still working on improving that. He is also a very versatile player. He played all over the midfield, as a winger, as a striker and as fullback over the last twelve months. Regardless of where he plays, he is always coaching his teammates and working hard on defense and offense.
