Raymond Brugmans

Raymond Brugmans is a high potential Dutch runner specialized in 400m, 800m and 1500m events. He is currently enrolled in his second year of college in the Netherlands and is interested in joining a strong and ambitious college track & field team in the fall of 2020 to further work on his running and continue his academics.

Raymond is a hard worker and wants to put all his effort into his running career. His ultimate goal is to run international events.

Raymond played soccer as a team captain until he was 16 years old, and only started racing competitively since age 16. He started running mid-distance and after competing at his first 400m event, he focused on 400m sprints as well.
He is currently trained by Rikkert van Rhee (multiple Dutch national champion and world championship participant) and has seen great progression since working with him.
While competing in the Dutch national 2nd division with his team, Raymond placed 7th at the Dutch national championships for 800m runners.

His currents PB's include:

400m: 52.34 (improved from 54.80 last season)
800m: 1:57.70 (improved from 2:02.36 last season)
1500m: 4:14.22

Due to Raymond's rather recent improvements, he has decided to completely focus on his running career, while working on a rigid schedule and diet. He wants to continue this path in the US while running for an ambitious college track & field team. He has a lot of room for improvement, on the technical side, explosiveness and timing wise. Check out his video for some partial and full race videos.

He would like to continue his studies with a focus on anaesthesia, nursing and ambulance work. He is a transfer student and will have 3 years of eligibility remaining.
