Albertine van der Goot

Albertine currently plays for VC Sneek in the third division and top division in The Netherlands.  She started playing volleyball at a young age and joined VC Sneek at the age of 12. 

Albertine really has a height that is unusual for a setter. Therefore, she will bring an extra dimension to the team. The MB has a shorter ball flight time because of her height and when she is at the net, she is an extra threat as an attacker. Blocking-wise, she is a danger to any opponent. She has a natural hand-wrist motion but knows she will need to improve in speed and fitness.

Even under the highest pressure, Albertine will always stay calm. She won’t panic fast and will stay focused until the last point is played. 

One of her main goals for now, is to become faster and more explosive on the court. She is already training with a personal trainer to become a better volleyball player. During her time in the US, she hopes to become the best player she can be. 

An interesting side note is that Albertine is also very musical, she plays multiple instruments by herself. 

Albertine graduated high school, in the VWO level, highest level of high school in The Netherlands, in June 2022 with a 3.50 GPA. She is currently in a gap year and will start as a freshman in the Fall of 2023. 

Albertine is interested in studying something related to chemistry, she will have four years of eligibility left.
