Cheyenne Houkes

Cheyenne trains at the Amjoy Tennis Academy and plays club leagues for ETV Volley. She started playing tennis at a serious level relatively late (at the age of 14). Ever since, she has developed very quickly and has worked extremely hard to make the most out of her tennis career.

Living close to the German border, Cheyenne has been able to compete in Dutch and German national club leagues and tournaments over the last few years.

She has a very powerful game and likes to dictate points with her forehand. She has good hands, serves well and models her game after Kiki Bertens.

We know Cheyenne very well on a personal level and know her to be a positive, open-minded and social girl. She is extremely coachable and genuinely interested in learning from her coaches and teammates.

During her time in college, Cheyenne wants to become a better match player and improve her mental skills. She will need to add more diversity into her game and learn how to compete even better during the most difficult moments in a match. We believe that with the right mindset and coaching staff, she can become a very strong college tennis player.

Cheyenne has solid wins over multiple UTR 7-8 players.

Cheyenne is currently in her last year of high school. She expects to graduate in June 2023. Cheyenne has not decided yet what she wants to major in.
