Eelco’s game is centered around taking initiative and keeping his opponents on the move. His forehand short cross is a reliable tool for breaking open rallies, while his strong backhand crosscourt allows him to maintain control during extended exchanges. By combining these strengths, he is able to consistently push opponents out of position and capitalize on openings.
On average, Eelco trains three times per week, competes in league matches on Sundays, and plays as much tennis as possible outside of formal practices. He enjoys free hitting whenever his schedule allows, though he balances this with school commitments and work. In addition, he competes in tournaments regularly, with a focus on school holidays and whenever weekday schedules allow.
Outside of tennis, Eelco is exploring his academic path. He is particularly interested in business psychology and sports economics, and he plans to attend a trial day soon to help him make his final decision on what to study.
Over the past year, Eelco has been active in competition, achieving notable results such as:
– 6-1 6-4 win over Djaygo van Helvoirt (UTR 7.69)
– 7-5 6-4 win over Lenn Doedee (UTR 7.34)
– 6-3 6-1 win over Yannick van den Boogaard (UTR 7.38)
With his attacking style, his dedication to improvement, and his ability to balance tennis with school and work, Eelco continues to develop his game and gain valuable experience. Looking ahead, he is motivated to grow both on the tennis court and in his academic journey.
