Fenna Swaan is a Dutch, right-handed tennis player interested in joining a college tennis team starting in the Fall of 2020. She has primarily competed in regional open tournaments in categories 3 and 4. Fenna will finish Dutch high school in the spring of 2020.
Fenna is an offensive baseline player with aggressive strokes who is not afraid to come to the net to finish the point. She is a true team player and has much experience playing both doubles and mixed doubles. In the United States, she hopes to enjoy a dedicated competitive tennis-environment and improve all aspects of her game. Fenna is in her last year of high school at the VWO level, the highest level of secondary education in the Netherlands.
Although Fenna has not played many national women’s tournament, she is active at the regional level, and successfully so. In 2017, she won the regional women’s master’s tournament, and in 2019 she reached the final rounds in doubles and mixed doubles in several consecutive tournaments. Fenna is a hard-working student and player with an upbeat, positive personality. We believe she has much upside to improve her game. She competed in the Dutch Mixed League, in the third Division, where she earned important wins for her team. Academically, Fenna ranks in the top 5% of the country – she aims to join a top academic school in the States. She is interested in studying political science, public administration or something related.
