Athletic Background

Jahriq began playing basketball at the age of eight, starting at Almonte, a small club in Eindhoven. As he quickly outgrew the competition, he moved to BAL (Basketball Academie Limburg), a top-division club in the Netherlands. His first season at BAL was a learning experience, but by his second year, he became a starter and key player for the team.

During his U16 years, Jahriq showed tremendous growth, earning an invitation to the U16 Dutch National Team practices. Unfortunately, an ankle injury at the end of the season prevented him from attending. 

Looking for a new challenge, Jahriq transferred to Basketball Academy Den Bosch. Through hard work and perseverance, he has grown into a leader for his team in his second year at Den Bosch. Now in his third U19 season and also playing for the senior men’s team, Jahriq has elevated his game, playing with more confidence and leadership than ever before.

Strengths

Jahriq is a high-IQ player who always puts the team first. His defense is the strongest aspect of his game, making him a reliable stopper on the court. His leadership and work ethic set him apart, as he is constantly looking for ways to improve and elevate his game.

Goals

Jahriq is focused on refining his ball-handling and off-the-dribble shooting, ensuring he becomes a more versatile offensive threat. His primary goal is to become the best player he can be, growing into a starter and leader at the college level. After his college career, he is determined to pursue a professional basketball career and continue competing at the highest levels. With his defensive intensity, leadership, and relentless drive to improve, Jahriq is ready to take the next step in his basketball journey.
