Quentin Verbiest

Quentin started playing Basketball on an early age when he was only 7 years old for Basketball club Alkmaar Guardians. During his time there he won the State championship with his U14 team. On top of that he also received a ‘talents license’ which allowed him to compete with Basketball club Flashing Heiloo’s U16 team who have a strong youth program. Quentin always played with a higher age group what helped Quentin a lot in his development by getting more minutes on the court.  

During the off season Quentin is actively competing in 3x3 Basketball where he made it to the finals three times. This fast style of play suits Quentin well and will help him in his transition to Basketball in the States.

Teammates of Quentin would describe him as a high-energy type of player that make sure his whole team operates as one unit.A strong aspect of Quentin his game is his on- and off the ball defense where he can really get under the opponents their skin.

Areas Quentin would like to improve on is the ability to beat the opponent off the dribble in one on one situations. Most drives to the basket come from strong cuts or on fast breaks. Being able to beat the opponent on a quick first step would help Quentin to become a more versatile player. Quentin is currently enrolled in the highest level of Dutch high school (VWO) and is expected to graduate in the Spring of 2023.
