Rens Janssen is a Dutch, left-handed tennis player interested in joining a college tennis team. He has primarily competed in category 4 open men’s tournaments, graduated Dutch high school in the spring of 2020, will take 1 year of college credit in the Netherlands and is looking to start college tennis as a transfer student in the Fall of 2021.
Rens is a fit, all-round, left-handed player who will never say no to a game of tennis. He is quick around the court, has good stamina and would love to combine his athletic and academic careers to develop both as a player and a student.
Since Rens has started tennis, he has improved his Dutch rating by one point every single year he played. Right now, he practices four to five times a week and competes in open men’s tournaments. This summer, Rens has won two category 4 tournaments and became runner-up once. Rens’ strength is his physical strength and agility, which allows him to return heavy and fast balls without a problem. To improve, Rens wants to work on getting more power on his backhand side and he wants to develop a weapon that will allow him to better dominate the point.
