Ruben Weijer
Ruben Weijer (6'2), born in 2005, is a right handed tennis player from Son en Breugel, the Netherlands. He is looking to join a determined and ambitious college tennis program for the fall of 2023.
About Ruben Weijer
Ruben finished high school in 2022, and is currently working on his tennis game during a gap year. He trains at the Amjoy Academy in Veldhoven, where he spends around 20 hours on court weekly. This is what he enjoys doing the most, and therefore would like to continue developing as a player and student in the States.
Ruben is very serious about his tennis and works hard. He knows what he wants. Besides becoming a good team players, he is motivated to become the best tennis player he can be. A college career could give him the opportunity to play more matches and thus, gain more confidence as an athlete.
During his time in the US he would like to improve the consistency on his backhand, and become even tougher mentally. Ruben is very much looking forward to combining a good education with a lot of hours on the tennis court. Something that is difficult to do in our country.
