An academic scholarship (also called an academic scholarship) is a financial scholarship for students with strong academic performance. This type of scholarship <\/a>lowers your total tuition costs and is awarded to students who excel in school and achieve good scores on admission tests. For student-athletes<\/a>, this can be especially attractive – as it increases your chances of admission as well as lowers athletic coach fees. <\/p>\n\n

How do you qualify for an academic scholarship?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Not everyone automatically qualifies for an academic scholarship. Each university sets its own admission requirements. They usually look at your GPA <\/a>(the average of your high school grades), and your results on admissions tests <\/a>such as the SAT<\/a>, ACT<\/a>, TOEFL <\/a>or IELTS<\/a>.
