An athletic scholarship (or athletic scholarship) is a financial scholarship for students who play high level sports. This athletic scholarship is awarded by American universities and significantly reduces total tuition and living expenses. Every university in America has several sports teams with their own coaches. These coaches receive a set budget from the university that they may distribute to their team members. To ensure fair competition among universities, the U.S. athletic association (such as the NCAA <\/a>or NAIA<\/a>) has established rules for the number of athletic scholarships that may be awarded per team. As a result, it is common that the budget must be divided among multiple team members. Still, there are opportunities at every level – from elite athletes to talented regional athletes. <\/p>\n\n
