In America, as in the Netherlands, a bachelor’s degree lasts four years. The first year is often an orientation year in which students can discover themselves and their interests. After this year, it is easier to make a good study choice. <\/p>\n\n

So you do not have to, as in the Netherlands, immediately register at a university for a particular study. However, it is useful to have an idea of the direction you want to take.
