Alexa Michielsen is a fast and technically strong midfielder\/attacker from the Netherlands. She played at HV Myra MA1 at SubTop level and previously at AMHC Rood-Wit, where she reached the highest national level with the U16. With her acceleration, smart positioning and strong backhand, Alexa is difficult to defend and often decisive in matches. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Academic background & goals<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Alexa attended the International Baccalaureate (IB) at the International School of Amsterdam. She wanted to combine her passion for field hockey with studying at a good university, gaining international experience and securing a sports scholarship<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Challenges & guidance<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The search brought challenges, such as little contact with coaches, academic requirements and finding a place that felt right both athletically and personally. Alexa is close with her family, which made the choice extra careful. Thanks to Slamstox’s guidance, Shippensburg University was eventually found, where her father is also a frequent visitor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alexa found in Shippensburg University the perfect combination of studies and sports.<\/a> She already earned her bachelor’s degree in three years, continues to play field hockey, continue her studies and has already scored several important goals.
