Mats plays an aggressive baseline game, consistently seeking to dominate points with his strong serve and powerful groundstrokes. His determination to dictate play makes him a tough opponent to face, particularly on faster surfaces. Mats’ competitive mindset is reflected in his training: he is constantly seeking improvement, whether through intense tennis sessions or physical conditioning. 

Beyond his raw power, Mats is also a team player. In the fall of 2024, he helped lead his team to victory in the top youth division for U14 for the second time showcasing his ability to contribute to both individual and team settings.

While his strengths lie in his intensity and offensive play, Mats continues to work hard on his consistency during matches and fine-tuning his footwork, especially in close-range movement. 

Athletic Goals

Mats is excited about the opportunity to train and compete in the U.S. collegiate system. His primary goals are to develop every aspect of his game, gain consistent match experience, and take full advantage of the high-level training environment. Looking ahead, Mats is fully committed to pursuing a professional career in tennis and is determined to reach his highest potential.

Notable Achievements

• Selected by the Dutch Tennis Federation (KNLTB) for regional U12 training (2 years)
• Champion in the top Dutch youth team competition U14 (Fall 2024, second time)
• Competes for Toptennis Oost-Nederland and club TV Park Grintebos
