Soccer:
Bastiaan has played in the first team of his age group since he was eight years old. Throughout his youth career, he and his teammates have won multiple championships, including several Hoofdklasse titles. At age 15, his team won both the Hoofdklasse league and the 6th division league. The following year they secured the Hoofdklasse title again, and in his first season with the U19-1, Bastiaan helped the team win another Hoofdklasse championship.

Originally playing as a left midfielder/left winger, Bastiaan transitioned to left back at his own request. This decision shaped his development into a modern, attacking fullback. Since last season, he has also played regularly as a defensive midfielder, a role in which his coach values him highly. His versatility allows him to adapt tactically and contribute in multiple positions.

Bastiaan’s key strengths include his game vision, accurate passing, and composure under pressure. He maintains a strong overview of the field, recognizes spaces quickly, and makes intelligent decisions in possession. His crosses and corners are delivered with precision into dangerous areas, and he contributes to building play through overlapping runs and controlled buildup from the back. Mentally, he stands out for his perseverance, loyalty, and team-first mentality. He never gives up, supports his teammates consistently, and plays with the collective success of the team as his main priority.

In addition to his performances at youth level, Bastiaan is regularly involved in senior matches, where he is often part of the starting lineup. Competing at this level has helped him further develop physically and tactically, and he continues to show strong performances against more experienced opponents. He has already made his mark by scoring his first goal at senior level.

Internationally, Bastiaan has competed in tournaments in Germany (Munich and Düsseldorf), Belgium, Spain, and multiple tournaments throughout the Netherlands, achieving second-place finishes in Germany in both 2024 and 2025. These experiences have strengthened his adaptability and competitiveness against diverse playing styles.

Academics:
Alongside his football career, Bastiaan is committed to his education and understands the importance of balancing academics with high-level sport. Being part of competitive teams for many years has helped him develop discipline, time management, and responsibility. These qualities support both his academic and athletic ambitions. He is motivated to continue growing both as a student and as a player in a challenging environment.
