Level
Florien currently plays for HC Rotterdam U18-1 with whom she competes at the highest level in the youth competition in the Netherlands. She has become Dutch national champion with her U16-1 team, which is the highest honor in the Dutch youth competition.
Throughout her youth career she has been selected for the first team selection at Rotterdam. She also got selected for her district team (Zuid-Holland).

Playing Style
Florien excels in reading the game, positioning herself effectively to intercept passes and make crucial defensive plays. As a central defender, she has the awareness to distribute long balls forward and initiate attacks from the back. Moreover, she possesses strong fundamental skills, allowing her to play out of pressure and confidently beat an opponent when needed. Her composure on the ball ensures she remains calm in tight situations. Florien also has a powerful and accurate sweep pass, allowing her to switch play and find teammates in advanced positions. She focuses on precise, well-placed passes to maintain possession and build offensive plays. On top of that, she consistently intercepts passes high on the field, breaking up opposition attacks before they become dangerous. Her defensive anticipation helps her stay one step ahead of attackers.

Academics
Florien is currently in her 5th year of high school (VWO). She combines her high level field hockey with school which shows how she knows how to manage both athletics and academics. She is expecting to graduate in June, 2026. She is really excited to play in the U.S. and compete in Division 1. She wants to compete in the U.S. starting in the Fall of 2026.
