About Joseph McLaughlin

Joe prefers to play an aggressive style, using his attacking forehand to control rallies and look for opportunities to move forward and finish points inside the court or at the net. His backhand slice is another important weapon, helping him change rhythm and dictate rallies. He currently trains around 15 hours of tennis per week plus 4 hours of fitness, combining private lessons, duo sessions, and high-performance squads. He competes regularly in men’s tournaments on weekends and plays ITF Junior events when appropriate for his development.

Some of Joe’s career highlights are:
–  County champion at all junior age groups (U8–U18) in singles and doubles
–  National Doubles Champion U14 at Wimbledon
– Represented Ireland at Junior Davis Cup (U16) in Spain
–  After returning from an early-2025 injury, won 1 ITF doubles title and reached 2 additional ITF doubles semifinals

Some of his best UTR-based singles results are:
– 7-5 6-4 win over Orry Farnworth (UTR 10.58)
– 6-1 7-5 win over Joel Henriksson (UTR 10.69)
– 7-6 7-5 win over Will Jepson (UTR 10.68)

Some of his best UTR based doubles results are:
– 6-4 2-6 12-10 win over Jan Frohlich & Matej Sedlaty (UTR 12.07 & 11.04)
–  6-4 4-6 11-9 win over Joshua Craze & Neil Saxer (UTR 10.90 & 11.28)
– 6-7 6-4 10-2 Eoghan Jennings & Zac Naughton (UTR 11.50 & 11.30)

Academically, Joe is interested in studying within the sports field, including Sports Science or Sports Management. He is motivated to join a competitive college team that values development, strong culture, and ambition.
