Mieke Ronnes

Mieke currently plays volleyball at SOMAS/Activia as an outside hitter in the Dutch second division (women's third division). She also trains with their second women's team (performing first division). Before joining SOMAS/Activia, Mieke already played for the first women's team for VC Avance at the age of just 14, showcasing her exceptional skills and early maturity in the sport. Mieke's rapid progression and adaptability have been evident throughout her volleyball journey. As a result of her fast improvement, Mieke has always played with better and older teammates, which makes her improving even faster. 

As an outside hitter, her strengths are diverse, including a powerful serve. Which gives her the ability to score some free points during the match. Mieke has a keen understanding of how to utilize her height strategically during the game, making her a dangerous attacker. The combination of her age and height gives her the ability to occupy the center position as well. The future will tell .

Mieke is dedicated to her academics, currently enrolled in the VWO level, the highest level of high school education in the Netherlands. She expects to graduate in June 2026. Mieke is mostly interested in majoring in architecture, graphic design or something related.
