About Tomas Meijer

Athletics
Tomas played both soccer and tennis until the age of 11. From that point onward, he decided to focus fully on tennis and has continued to develop his game through training, tournaments, and team competition.

Over the years, Tomas has won several tournaments and gained valuable competitive experience. This season, he competes with his team in the Hoofdklasse, one of the higher team competition levels in the Netherlands. Playing at this level allows him to regularly face strong opponents and continue developing under pressure.

Strengths and Development
Tomas’s forehand is the strongest part of his game. He uses it to take control of rallies, put pressure on his opponents, and create opportunities to finish points.

He is currently working on becoming more consistent throughout matches and developing every aspect of his game. His goal is to become a more complete player who can perform reliably in different situations and against a variety of playing styles.

Some of Tomas’s best results include:
– 63 46 75 win over Cees Van Der Duin (UTR 7.09)
– 26 64 119 win over Tijn van Osch (UTR 6.64)
– 63 63 win over Daniël Bronder (UTR 6.77)
– 62 26 36 loss to Jurgen Vrolijk (UTR 7.35)

Academics
Tomas graduated from VWO, the highest level of high school education in the Netherlands, in June 2026. He is currently taking a gap year and has not yet decided what he would like to major in. He is open to exploring different academic opportunities while combining his studies with college tennis in the United States.
