    Dilay Ata – Women’s Tennis

In this article, we will tell you more about student-athlete Dilay Ata. Additionally, at the bottom of this article, you will find a video in which Dilay shares more about herself.

    Sports: Women’s Tennis
    Entry semester: Fall 2025

Dilay is a 19-year-old tennis player from Apeldoorn. She lives at home with her parents, along with her younger brother and sister. She started playing tennis when she was eight years old.

Dilay doesn’t come from a tennis family, but her mother always enjoyed watching tennis, which led her to sign Dilay up for a tennis lesson. Dilay immediately loved it and continued playing. In the beginning, she also played volleyball, but eventually, she had to choose between the two sports and decided to focus on tennis.

Dilay has trained at a high level from a young age and took tennis very seriously from the start. She traveled all over the Netherlands to compete in tournaments and even had the opportunity to participate in the national youth championships.

Dilay is a very positive and well-mannered person. She easily makes new friends and is highly motivated in everything she does. On the court, she is an incredibly hard worker and very coachable. She is always eager to learn new things. When it comes to her game, her backhand down the line is her favorite weapon.

In the U.S., Dilay wants to step out of her comfort zone. She also aims to become the best version of herself both on and off the court.
