Maas Gerbrands

 Maas’s game is centered around consistency and a determined attitude on court. He is particularly comfortable from the backhand side, where he is able to dictate play through cross-court exchanges and change both tempo and direction. While he naturally waits for the right opportunities from the baseline, Maas is focused on improving his transition game and creating more chances to finish at the net. 

Having started tennis at the age of 7, Maas has been a consistent performer at his local club, HLTC Gooiland, winning the club championships multiple times in both singles and doubles. He maintains a high volume of play, combining 4.5 hours of weekly academy training with several hours of match play. Last year, he competed in 87 matches across singles and doubles, showing his durability and commitment to the sport. 

Maas is often recognized for his positive attitude and coachability. He is a team-oriented player who brings a high level of effort to every session.

7-5 4-6 10-8 win over Julian Kusten (UTR 7.33)

Outside of tennis, Maas is focused on a technical academic path. He is currently pursuing a VWO diploma, the highest level of secondary education in The Netherlands.  He has a strong interest in (Business) statistics, Artificial Intelligence, Data science, Business analytics or something related to that. He is looking for a college program that offers a high academic standard and a competitive environment to further develop his athletic career.
