Level

Julie competes at the highest national level (Landelijk) for Gooische, a prominent hockey club in the Netherlands. Throughout her youth career, she has consistently played for the first selection teams, giving her extensive experience at the absolute top of Dutch youth hockey. Julie also made her debut for Gooische Dames 1 at the Overgangsklasse when she was 16. She has since then regularly practiced with the team as well, providing her with valuable experience at the senior level with a more physical playing style.

Playing style

Julie is a composed and reliable central defender who excels in 1v1 defensive duels and quick ball handling. Known for her technical precision and accurate distribution, she reads the game well to effectively transition play from defense to attack. She is a disciplined teammate who focuses on maintaining a solid structural presence at the back. Julie is currently focusing her training on increasing her physical strength and developing a stronger scoop to expand her long-range distribution options.

Accomplishments

Julie has a consistent track record of competing in the national championship tournaments. She was a semifinalist at the Dutch National Indoor Championships U18 and finished as the top scorer of the U18 national indoor season during the 2024–2025 year. Additionally, she qualified for and participated in the Dutch National Indoor Championships at both the U16 and U14 levels, as well as the Dutch National Outdoor Championships at the U14 level.

High performance

Julie was selected for the District Midden-Holland U14 regional team and advanced to the North-West Regional Training Center (Steunpunt) U15. She spent two years training and competing within this elite KNHB talent pathway, development environments designed for the top players in her region.

Academics

Julie is currently pursuing the VWO program (Atheneum/Gymnasium), the highest academic curriculum in Dutch secondary education. She is a motivated and disciplined student, on track to graduate in June 2027.
