    About Yorinde Speear

    Athletic Background

From a young age, Yorinde has been passionate about athletics. Coming from a family deeply involved in the sport, it was natural for her to take up track and field and sprinting quickly became her favorite event. As a child, she loved the feeling of speed and competition, which has only grown stronger over the years.

Before fully focusing on track, she explored various sports such as hockey, horseback riding, tennis, and dance. Alll of which contributed to her coordination, balance, and athletic versatility. At 13, Yorinde joined a select performance group at Tempo AV, where she still trains today with a close-knit team that feels like family.

Over the past few years, she has competed at several major national events, including:

    • Dutch Outdoor Championships U18 – 2025
    • Dutch Indoor Championships U18 – 2025 (5th place 60m final)
    • Dutch Outdoor Championships U18 – 2024
    • Dutch Indoor Championships U18 – 2024
    • Multiple national-level competitions in younger age categories.

    • 100m: 12.61
    • 150m: 19.24
    • 200m: 25.80

    Strengths

Yorinde’s biggest technical strength is her start. She has a quick reaction time, powerful acceleration, and strong execution out of the blocks. This is allowing her to gain an early advantage in her races. Her focus and determination make her a disciplined and coachable athlete who strives for technical improvement in every training session.

    Areas to Improve

Yorinde is currently focused on improving the transition phase after her start. While she accelerates well in the first 30 meters, she aims to maintain her speed and power deeper into the race. By extending her acceleration phase and maintaining her drive longer, she will be able to translate her explosive start into stronger finishes.

    Athletic Goals

Yorinde’s short-term goal is to keep refining her sprint technique and race execution. She dreams of achieving European Championship qualification standards and hopes to one day earn a spot on a national relay team.

In the U.S., she wants to continue her development as a sprinter in a competitive and high-performance environment, learning from elite coaches, training alongside driven teammates, and pushing her limits both on and off the track.
