Athletic Background
Ilse started athletics at the age of six in her hometown and joined AV Hera at eight years old, where she has continued to train and compete for the past 7.5 years. From the beginning, she enjoyed all disciplines within youth athletics and found it difficult to choose just one favorite event. When she started competing in multi-events as a junior, first the six-event competition and later the heptathlon, she found the discipline that suited her best.
Besides the heptathlon events, Ilse has also developed experience in individual events such as triple jump and discus through team competitions. Her versatility allows her to contribute across multiple disciplines and makes her a valuable athlete in team competitions.
Since the winter of 2023/2024, Ilse has also been part of the RTC Horizontal Jumping program, where she has further developed her long jump technique and improved her triple jump skills.
Her progression has resulted in several strong national performances. In 2024, she finished 3rd in triple jump and 5th in the 300m hurdles at the C-Spelen (U15/U16 National Championships). In 2025, she earned a 3rd-place finish in long jump at the Dutch U16 Championships and placed 5th in triple jump at the Dutch U18 Championships. Later that summer, she finished 7th in triple jump at the Dutch U18 Championships and became Dutch U16 Champion in triple jump at the C-Spelen.
Ilse continues to develop as a complete athlete and is motivated by both personal improvement and contributing to her team.

Strengths
Ilse’s biggest strength is her versatility. She is able to perform at a high level across multiple disciplines, including running, jumping, and throwing events. This broad skill set allows her to compete successfully in multi-events and adapt to different challenges.
She also enjoys learning from others and improving every aspect of her performance. Her motivation, consistency, and willingness to develop make her a dedicated athlete who is always looking for ways to progress.
Goals
One of Ilse’s main areas of focus is improving her 800m performance within the heptathlon. Improving her endurance and race performance in this event will help her become a stronger overall multi-event athlete.
She is also working on her sprint and hurdle starts. Although she has excellent reaction speed, she is focused on translating that ability into a more powerful and efficient start.
Ilse’s goal is to continue improving her personal records and develop into a stronger all-around athlete. She is excited about the opportunity to train in a competitive environment, learn from other athletes and coaches, and continue growing both technically and physically.
Alongside her athletic ambitions, Ilse is highly motivated to make the most of her academic opportunities. She is looking for a strong academic program that matches her ambitions and allows her to continue developing both as a student and as an athlete. Ilse is particularly interested in studying Geography or Political Science, fields where she can further develop her analytical skills and broaden her understanding of the world around her.
