In this article, we’ll tell you more about student-athlete Lobke Hendriksen. At the bottom, you’ll also find a video in which Lobke talks more about herself.
Sport: Women’s Track & Field
Enrollment semester: Fall 2027
This is Lobke Hendriksen, a passionate and competitive middle- and long-distance runner from the Netherlands. Her athletic career didn’t start on the track, but in obstacle racing. In that sport, Lobke competed in national competitions. Running, in particular, quickly emerged as her strongest and favorite discipline.
That love of running led Lobke to track and field about two and a half years ago. Although she has only been competing on the track for a relatively short time, she has already posted several strong performances.
Her endurance, perseverance, and competitive spirit are among her most important qualities. Her background in survival running has also helped her become strong both physically and mentally. During races, Lobke can maintain a steady, fast pace for a long time and continues to push herself to get the most out of her performance.
In the coming years, Lobke hopes to continue developing as a well-rounded long-distance runner. Among other things, she is working on her running form, stride frequency, speed, and strength. In the United States, she hopes to further improve her performance on the track, while at the same time continuing to capitalize on her strength in longer road races.
“My goal is to continue improving technically and physically, while becoming a stronger and more well-rounded runner.” – Lobke Hendriksen
