Athletic Background
Olivier started playing soccer at the age of four and consistently competed at the highest local and regional level. He primarily played center back and was often the team captain. His soccer teams also participated in tournaments throughout the Netherlands and Belgium, where they consistently performed well.
At the age of 11, Olivier also started playing tennis and continued for three years alongside soccer. He competed at the highest local and regional level, and his team won the regional competition several times.
At 13, Olivier started playing field hockey, again competing at the highest local and regional level. He continued until the season in which he turned 16.
After taking a one-year break from organized sport, Olivier started a personal running challenge with the goal of raising money for his Global Citizen internship. He challenged himself to run 1,900 km in 190 days. This experience sparked his passion for running and ultimately led him to join AV Altis in January 2026.

All of these times were achieved without a structured period of specific running training and should therefore be considered baseline performances at this stage of his development.
High Performance
Olivier competed in the 800m at the National Competition Championships on September 6, 2026. He will also compete at the national U18/U20 competition in September and participate in the individual National Championships later this month.
Strengths
Olivier has an extremely competitive mindset. Whether it is a major competition or something as simple as a game with friends, he always wants to win and refuses to settle for anything less than his best. He does not back down when things become difficult and uses both setbacks and successes as motivation to continue improving.
Another major strength is his ability to reflect on himself. Olivier is comfortable taking a step back, analyzing his own performance, and identifying areas where he can improve. Regardless of whether he wins or loses, he remains critical of his own performance and looks for ways to progress.

Athletic Goals
Olivier has ambitious long-term goals. Ultimately, he wants to become the best 800m runner in the world and compete at the Olympic Games. Before reaching that level, one of his primary goals is to qualify for the NCAA Championships during his college career.
Beyond his own athletic achievements, Olivier wants to inspire others through his journey and demonstrate what can be achieved through hard work, dedication, and a willingness to continuously improve.
Olivier has only recently started his track & field career making his current performances only the beginning. He is motivated to see how far he can develop when combining his natural ability, competitive mindset, and a structured training environment.
