About David van Kooten

David’s game is centered around athleticism and a strong work ethic. He is a fast and flexible player who has consistently invested in his physical conditioning, training off-court three to four times per week. By combining this fitness with a focused mindset, supported by work with a mental coach, he is able to maintain a high level of play throughout tournaments.

Having started at Approach, a certified academy in his region, David showed steady development from an early age. He has made significant progress in the national rankings, moving from the top 100 in the U14 category to his current position of #12 in the country for his birth year (2010). His experience in Tennis Europe and ITF Junior tournaments has helped him adapt to international competition and different styles of play.

In addition to tennis, David played first-team field hockey for eight years and served as team captain, which helped him develop leadership skills and a strong appreciation for a team environment.

Some of his best results are:
2-6 7-5 10-8 win over Lasse van Gemen (UTR 9.56)
6-4 6-4 win over Bo Devens (UTR 9.61)
6-0 5-7 8-10 loss to Bink Vente (UTR 10.00)

Outside of tennis, David is pursuing a VWO diploma, the highest secundary education level in the Netherlands. He is looking for a college program that fits his academic ambitions and provides a high-level environment to continue his athletic development.
