About Lobke Hendriksen

Athletic Background

Lobke began her sports career in survival running, a sport that combines elements of obstacle course racing (OCR) and cross-country running. She competed in the national competition circuit, where she consistently finished between 1st and 10th place, with running being her strongest component and favorite part of the sport.

This passion for running led her to transition into athletics about 2.5 years ago. She joined AVA’70 and recently started training with Running Movements, where she has been part of the talented training group under professional coach Gert-Jan Wassink for the past five months.

Her performances have primarily been on the road, as she only started competing regularly on the track two years ago. Despite this, Lobke has already competed at national youth championships, finishing 11th at the Dutch U16 Outdoor Championships and 13th at the Dutch U18 Indoor Championships, despite being just 15 years old at the time.

In addition to her individual racing achievements, Lobke also became Regional Champion Allround Woman over 5 km, further highlighting her strength over longer distances.

Lobke has also established herself as a strong road runner. At the 2026 Dutch U20 5K Road Championships, held as part of the SevenHills Record Run, she finished 10th. Shortly afterwards, she won the women’s race at the IJsselloop 2026, crossing the finish line and claiming 1st place

Strengths

Lobke’s biggest strength lies in the longer distances, particularly the 5 km on the road, where she consistently performs at a strong level. Her endurance, determination, and competitive mindset allow her to maintain pace and perform well over longer races. Her background in survival running has also provided her with strong physical resilience and mental toughness.

Areas for Improvement

Lobke is currently working on improving several technical aspects of her running, including running mechanics, stride frequency, and arm movement. In addition, she is focusing on increasing her speed and overall strength, particularly core strength, to support further development in middle- and long-distance track events.

Athletic Goals

Lobke’s goal is to continue improving both technically and physically as a distance runner. She aims to further develop her track performances while maintaining her strength in road races, with a focus on becoming a stronger and more complete middle- and long-distance athlete.

Additional Achievements

Lobke also finished 2nd at Olympic Moves, the Dutch national school sports competition, competing with girls from the third grade.
