Thijs is an athletic person. He has a background in skiing, soccer, and field hockey. He played field hockey at a national level in The Netherlands until he turned 18. His experience in field hockey has helped develop his mental toughness and ability to perform under pressure. Thijs finalised his ski instructor exams in the beginning of December 2024 and since then has been working as a certified ski instructor in Austria. His multi-sports background adds to his well-rounded athletic profile, benefiting both his game and his team. In 2018, he discovered the game of golf.

In his first year of playing golf, he was part of the Golf Sixes National Champion team. Over the next years he improved rapidly on his golf game. He started playing in national competitions and tournaments and increased his hours of practice. He is currently a member at Golf Club Houtrak and at Golf Club The International in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He is now shooting a scoring average of +6 (79) on The International.

The biggest strength of Thijs is his course management. He takes a thoughtful approach to his game, carefully planning each shot and managing the course with a strategic mindset. His disciplined practice habits help him stay focused and consistent, both in practice and competition. Thijs’s ability to stay calm and make smart decisions on the course makes him a reliable player for any team.

Thijs graduated from the highest level of High School (VWO) in The Netherlands in the Summer of 2024. His GPA is 3.7. He is interested in pursuing a major in the field of Economics/Econometrics.
