About
Florance de Kroon

After finishing her havo at the age of 16, Florance did not know exactly which field of study she wanted to pursue in the Netherlands. She decided to take a gap year first, with the goal of starting a follow-up study a little older and more consciously. In 2022, however, an unexpected opportunity came her way: studying and playing field hockey in the United States at Commonwealth University Lock Haven. What was meant to be a one-year adventure grew into an unforgettable experience she didn’t want to let go.

Florance is now in her final year of sports management studies and has enjoyed playing hockey at Lock Haven University for the past 3.5 years. Thanks to the combination of studies, sports and life in America, she has developed strongly both personally and professionally. The guidance from Slamstox played an important role in this. Now that she is an intern here, it feels extra special to be able to help future students realize their own American adventure. An experience she knows from her own experience how valuable it can be.
