In this article, we’ll tell you more about student-athlete Kees Braakhekke. At the bottom, you’ll also find a video in which Kees talks more about himself.
Sport: Men’s Tennis
Entry semester: Fall 2027
This is Kees Braakhekke, an ambitious and tactically strong tennis player from the Netherlands. Kees began playing competitive tennis in earnest at the age of eleven at Amstelpark. Although he started relatively late compared to many other players, he has made significant progress in a short period of time.
On the court, Kees is a tactical all-court player. He patiently builds up his points from the baseline and then looks for the right moment to move to the net. His inside-out forehand is one of his most important weapons, allowing him to apply pressure and finish off points.
One of Kees’s strengths is his understanding of the game. He’s good at identifying his opponent’s weaknesses and can adjust his tactics accordingly during a match.
Kees is also looking ahead academically. His interests include economics, and he is searching for a university in the United States where he can combine a suitable degree program with a strong tennis program.
Kees is looking forward to taking the next step in the United States, both athletically and academically. He wants to continue developing as a tennis player, challenge himself at a higher level, and at the same time build a future for himself off the court.
“I want to continue developing my game at a high level while balancing tennis with an academic path that aligns with my ambitions.” – Kees Braakhekke
