Sport: Women’s Volleyball
Enrollment semester: Fall 2027
This is Evi Poel, a versatile and passionate volleyball player from the Netherlands. Evi started playing volleyball at the age of seven at Keizer Otto, where she spent her early years as a player. She later joined the PDK Volleyball School and made the switch to PDK Huizen.
Since then, Evi has made great strides in her development. She currently plays for VV Utrecht, where she competes at the third-highest senior level in the Netherlands. In addition, she has been taking extra training sessions at the PDK Volleyball School for years and now also trains with a pre-youth performance group organized by the Dutch Volleyball Federation.
Evi primarily plays as a middle blocker, but her versatility is one of her greatest strengths. She has experience playing multiple positions and, as a result, understands the various roles within a team. This makes her a versatile player and helps her adapt easily to different game situations.
Another one of Evi’s strengths is her ability to stay calm under pressure. During tense moments, she remains composed and is able to make sound decisions. She also believes it’s important to work together as a team and make a positive contribution, both on and off the field.
In the United States, Evi wants to continue developing as a player and as a person. She is looking for an environment where she is challenged every day and, at the same time, can be part of a close-knit and ambitious college team.
“I want to continue developing as a player, challenge myself at a higher level, and contribute to a strong team environment.” – Evi Poel
