David van Kuik – Men’s Track and Field

In this article we tell you more about student-athlete David van Kuik, in addition, at the bottom of this article you will find the video in which David tells more about himself.

Sports: Track & Field
Entry semester: Fall 2023

17-year-old David van Kuik has only been running seriously since last September. He used to play field hockey but stopped playing last year. Running was no stranger to him since he had to stay in shape for field hockey and was running a lot during that time. Now he runs fanatically at his local club and his coach has started his own team.

What makes David special as a person is that he always wants to learn new things and when David starts with something new he wants to know everything about it. He is also not afraid to ask questions.

As an athlete, David is very motivated and wants to work hard to achieve his goals. He finds communication with the coach important, that’s why he keeps him well informed about minor aches and pains, for example.

In America he wants to bring out the fastest and best version of himself, on the track but also outside of it. He hopes to learn a lot from the independence that comes with it. He is also looking forward to creating friendships with the people on his team.

“I am always ready to work hard and motivate others to do the same”

David van Kuik
