Entry semester: Fall 2023

21-year-old Hidde Kats is originally from Rotterdam and is currently a 3rd year law student in Leiden. In order to be able to combine his sport with further studies, Hidde is looking for a suitable university where he can obtain his master’s degree. Hidde has been playing golf since he was 5 years old. In his younger years, he always went to the golf course with his father. In his youth, Hidde tried several ball sports, but in the end he always came back to golf.

At the age of 10 Hidde became a member of the NGF selection and at the age of 11 he already won a Dutch championship! Special! In his subsequent years, Hidde played several international matches and tinkered his handicap. His physical strength and height are a big part of his success, allowing him to hit very powerful balls. Hidde also has a lot of experience playing under pressure, which he believes will be a big advantage during his time in America.

Hidde mainly focuses on achieving a good academic future in which golf plays a slightly lesser role. Hidde is very ambitious and would like to work on a successful future at a law firm. In addition, he would like to work on improving his handicap to +3 or +4. A very ambitious boy!
