Sport: Women’s Field Hockey
Entry semester: Fall 2027
This is Isabella van den Berg, a sociable and driven field hockey player from Heemstede. She has now been playing hockey for ten years and has therefore gained a lot of experience in different positions. She played as a midfielder for seven years and has mainly played as a forward for the last three years.
Isabella currently plays on both a junior and a senior team, which means she often plays multiple matches on weekends. She is also active as a coach and coaches a team of twelve-year-old girls twice a week.
Isabella describes herself as sociable and easy to get along with. In a new group, she quickly connects with others and easily feels at home. She is also very persistent: when she wants to achieve something, she commits herself fully to it.
She brings that combination of experience, social skills and perseverance onto and around the hockey field. She finds it important to be part of a team while continuing to work on her own development.
“When I really want something, I go for it and give it everything I have.” – Isabella van den Berg
