Sport: Men’s Golf
Entry semester: Spring 2025

Jaap is a 21-year-old golfer from Nijmegen, Netherlands. He grew up in a sporty family and started playing both hockey and golf at the age of seven. Until he was fourteen, Jaap played both sports, but at one point, he had to make a choice. Since he was playing hockey at the highest level, he decided to temporarily stop playing golf.

When the COVID-19 restrictions halted the hockey season, Jaap decided to start playing golf again. Since then, he has made tremendous progress and has become a dedicated golfer.

Jaap stands out for his social character and his love for challenges. It’s no surprise that it has always been a big dream for him to go to America to further develop his golf career. What makes Jaap special as an athlete is his ability to quickly learn new things and his strong mental toughness, which helps him stay focused and perform well in stressful situations.

In the United States, Jaap hopes to further improve his golf skills, win many tournaments, and grow both as an athlete and as a person. He is also looking forward to making new friends and values the importance of a close-knit team. His ultimate goal is to eventually play on the PGA Tour and make his dreams come true.
