Sport: Men’s Waterpolo
Entry semester: Fall 2026
This is Jelle van Rossum, a Water Polo player from the Netherlands who is about to turn 20, living in Amersfoort. Jelle grew up in the pool, as his father played water polo fanatically. At age nine, Jelle himself started playing water polo at ZPC Amersfoort. At that club he played his entire youth. He also got to play with the Dutch national team several times. His highlight there was finishing seventh at the 2021 European Championships. Right after that came Jelle’s low point in his sports career, he injured his elbow. But because water polo is his passion, Jelle fought hard to come back. After coming back from his injury, Jelle immediately made a transfer to ZPC Het Ravijn where he played for two seasons.
What really sets Jelle apart as an athlete is that he works hard and inspires his teammates. Jelle will also give everything for the win. There is only one thing that matters to him and that is winning. Jelle has very good reflexes and is very fast in goal.
In the future, Jelle hopes to become a better version of himself and a better leader in America. When Jelle goes for something, he goes for it full force. Jelle’s goal is to make it to the Dutch national team again. After his injury, he did not manage to do so, but he will come back and he even wants to reach the Olympics.
” I want to push everyone to win with me and win everything. “
