In this article, we tell you more about student-athlete Jonathan van Bokhorst. In addition, at the bottom of this article you will find the video in which Jonathan tells more about himself.

    Sports: Men’s Track & Field
    Entry semester: Fall 2026

This is Jonathan van Bokhorst, an athlete from the Netherlands who just turned 17, living in Amersfoort. Jonathan first played soccer for two years while on the waiting list for athletics. At the age of nine, Jonathan was finally allowed to start athletics and soon began expanding to multiple distances. To this day, he is still a fanatic about it.

What makes Jonathan special as a person is his optimism and resilience. The optimism comes because he always tries to find a solution rather than a problem. He brings people together with his social nature and adds humor to their lives.

What really sets Jonathan apart as an athlete is that he always goes to the limit, but does not go over it. As a result, he knows very well how to communicate with the coach when he is in pain.

In the future, Jonathan hopes to play high level sports and develop academically in America. Besides that, he wants to explore the world and have fun. Jonathan is someone who can add fun and performance in his future team. When his teammates are struggling, Jonathan will push them to the limit.

” What I do know is that I want to make the world a better place and push my limits running. “
